Friday Special: "Quotes For The Week"

It's been an exceptional week of words on the farm. In celebration of Friday I'll post a few.

On Sunday afternoon we helped Grandma Mary pick on her cherry tree. Participants included Luke, Mary Caroline and Sidda. Papa and Grandma held branches down so the kids could pick. I was quality control....only pick the red ones. THE RED ONES!

Here goes with the quotes.
Sidda: Look Aunt Margie! This one's whipe! See? It's red and whipe!
Grandma: Who's climbing up the back side of my ladder? (She really is to short to see!) Sidda: Uh, that would be me.
Grandma: Well, that's enough for now. We'll have to get the taller ladder to reach the rest.
Sidda: I'll put this ladder away. And she shoves the ladder over. Literally. Just sends the ladder flying to the ground and then wipes her hands as if to say, "You're welcome." Grandma nearly passed out. Thankfully no one was standing anywhere near the ladder!

Luke on Thursday night:
Mom: How was your day, Luke?
Luke: I beat a toad with a bat. Dad made me spend the day inside.
Mom: Wow. That was God's creation.
Luke: I know.
Mom: Do you think God is upset that you killed his creation?
Luke: Yeah. That's why Dad got mad.
Mom: So.....do you think you should tell God you're sorry?
Luke: No. I should have asked God for a jar and some water for the toad.
Mom: O.K.
(At this point, the conversation went wacky. Somehow he ended up on Jesus and the resurrection.)
Luke: Jesus died on the cross but it's O.K. because He came back to life. Like Rexie and all the other people and animals that Larry takes care of in the museum.
Mom: Uh, not quite. (For those who are living in a cave or at least without chidlren: he's referring to the movie "Night at the Museum" where everything comes back to life at night.)

O.K. To prove that my mind has not completely gone to mush from over-exposure to preschoolers I'll move on to a more serious quote from Ray Comfort, Living Waters Publications:

Joy is the barometer of the depth of faith you have in God.

Happy Friday!
