Charlie

Charlie Wade. Charlie Brown. Charlie Boy. Charlie Barley. O'Charlie. Little Man. Lovey Bubby. These are the names of Mr. Charlie. If I've forgotten any, feel free to post some more. Seems everyone has a pet name for our Charlie. He's the cutest thing ever. We always tell him he's the sweetest thing ever. He gives tight hugs around the neck, he snuggles as close as he can, he gives lots of kisses. He's a sweetie pie. Trevor and Catrese came to visit and on Friday night we said, "Oh, you'll want to take Charlie home with you." T and C are foster parents and are completly out of the baby stage, don't ask for babies, don't take babies, are FINISHED with babies. By Sunday afternoon Trevor was looking for a place to stash Charlie in their suburban. He's the sweetest thing ever. Did I mention cutest too? And he's technically not a baby. He would dispute that from here to kingdom come....but, um, Charlie Boy, what's up with the diaper? He's also a peannut so he snuggles like a toddler rather than an almost 4 year old big boy.
Here are the latest Charlie-isms:
Mama Llama. This is his pet name for me....and no, he hasn't read the books. We're not sure where this came from but it always accompanies one of the hugs around the neck mentioned above. He says, "Mama Llama" and I say "Lovey Bubby" and it continues back and forth until he's ready to run away and play.
I love you more than me! This is his classic going to bed yell down the stairs. You know, after all prayers have been said, 3 sessions of huggin and kissin' (this should really be called germ sharing), retrieving a stuffy or two from the underbelly of the abyss (more commonly known as the couch), hanging out under the radar as his siblings that choose to USE the potty take one more turn and THEN they head up the stairs, Charlie yells from the top "I love you more than me Mama Llama!" And then he runs squealing to his bed as though I'm going to chase him down and eat him up. It's a possibility.
Thank you for me! No matter who is praying over the meal, Charlie helps. He prays his own out loud prayer right along with whomever is leading the mealtime prayer. It's the most pentecostal we get in this house. Maybe Charlie's charismatic. Either way, when the end of the prayer came this morning at breakfast he shouted, "AND THANK YOU FOR ME!"

And we all said, "Amen to that."
Love you Charlie Boy.
